Name: Seth Thomas
Director
Born in North Wales, growing up West Wales, and schooled in Whitland, Seth Thomas is currently a Director in Citi's UK Public Sector team. He focuses on a number of specialities advising governments around the world, including, financial market access, public sector efficiency, economic development, and financial centre design. In 2008-09 he served as a lead Secretariat member of HM Treasury's "International Financial Services and the UK" Review 2008-09. Prior to his current role, he held various roles at Citi, including as a specialist on the global financial services industry, and in Mergers & Acquisitions. He has also worked as a management consultant and at an e-commerce start-up - though his first job was driving an ice-cream van on the beaches of South Pembrokeshire - an experience never to be forgotten... Seth holds a law degree, and an M. Phil. in International Relations from Trinity Hall, Cambridge. He sits on the Governing Council and Finance Committee of Chatham House in London (also known as the Royal Institute of International Affairs); is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts; a member of the Economy & Finance working group at the Institute of Welsh Affairs; and a "Cardiff & Co" Ambassador. He has also been part of the "Teachfirst" scheme in the UK, acting as a coach to a young teacher. His interests include modern history & politics, the arts, creative writing, hill-walking (particularly in Snowdonia), and watching London Welsh RFC stride onto ever greater glory...
